All WECL English Colleges provide an English Immersion Program. As the name suggests the students are "immersed or surrounded” by English. All teachers are English speakers from Canada, USA or Great Britain. All teaching is done in English, all textbooks are written in English, and all school activities are carried out in English.

The school tries to create a Canadian atmosphere, allowing the students to not only learn English, but to become acquainted with a western culture. Teachers will use western teaching methods and will introduce students to many western customs. Teachers live on campus, and are available for conversation, not only during class time, but also afterwards. The only way a student could be exposed to more English language and culture is if he/she went abroad to study.

When you come to WECL you will not only be taught English as a subject, but in order to broaden your vocabulary and English skills you will be taught World Cultures or World Affairs and Business. The English program itself is broken down into components so that students can receive maximum exposure to different teachers. All of this will help you in becoming an effective part of modern Chinese society.

WECL provides a program that is an effective way to learn conversational English in a short period of time. The program has been used successfully for several years – WECL celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2004. However, it will only work if students pursue their studies with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Students must grasp every opportunity offered them to practice their English, and create their own opportunities to speak English.
